Description: This advanced 40-hour course prepares certified rope rescue technicians to safely and effectively perform rescues on communication towers, tower cranes, and other elevated structures. Designed in accordance with NFPA 1006 (2021) and NFPA 2500 (2022), the course emphasizes real-world application of rope-based rescue systems in high-angle environments where traditional access is limited or non-existent.
Participants will engage in intensive hands-on training, including long climbs, victim access and packaging, and both top-down and ground-up rescue scenarios. The course also covers hazard identification, fall protection systems, equipment selection, and structural analysis specific to tower environments. Students will be evaluated on their ability to perform critical rescue tasks at heights under realistic conditions.
This course is physically demanding and requires a high level of technical proficiency, physical fitness, and attention to detail. Students must demonstrate competence in all required skills to receive certification.
Prerequisite: NFPA 1670-compliant Rope Rescue Technician certification and Instructor approval.
