Lieutenant Elgin Myers

Course: Trench Rescue

Lieutenant Elgin Myers brings over eighteen years of fire service experience to the classroom and field, delivering high-level instruction in technical rescue and hazardous materials operations. Currently serving as a Hazmat Lieutenant, Elgin has been a dedicated member of the department’s elite SHOT (Special Hazards Operations Team) since 2013.

A state-certified instructor and Live Fire Training Instructor (LFTI), Elgin is deeply committed to training the next generation of responders with the skills and mindset needed for complex rescue scenarios. His instructional approach is built on a foundation of operational experience and technical precision.

Elgin holds numerous technical rescue certifications, including Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse, Vehicle & Machinery Extrication, and Hazmat Technician.

Elgin’s dedication to responder safety, technical excellence, and real-world application makes him a trusted instructor and mentor in the technical rescue community.
