Lieutenant Ed Ruping

Course: Truck Ops

Lieutenant Ed Ruping has proudly served with the Seminole County Fire Department for nearly twenty years. Currently assigned to Tower 12, he has been an integral part of the department’s Tower team for twelve years, including the last seven years as a Lieutenant. He also serves on the Tower Spec Committee and has for the last four years.

A dedicated and experienced instructor, Lt. Ed Ruping teaches Rope Rescue and Truck Company Operations and serves as the Lead Instructor for Truck Ops. His hands-on approach, deep operational knowledge, and commitment to firefighter development make him a respected mentor both on and off the fireground.

In addition to his department responsibilities, Lt. Ed Ruping is also a valued member of Florida Task Force 4 (FL-TF4), contributing his technical rescue expertise to one of the state’s premier urban search and rescue teams.

Lt. Ed Ruping brings a wealth of real-world experience, tactical insight, and instructional passion to every training session, helping to prepare the next generation of firefighters for the challenges of the job.
