Advanced Rigging Course TEST

September 27
$1.00

This FCDICE-approved 40-hour course will expand the student’s knowledge of rigging rope rescue systems by exploring the physics of rescue systems, building individual components for advanced systems, and engineering complete systems for rescue scenarios.

The course will cover advanced anchoring, artificial high directionals (AZ Vortex/Larkin Frame), off-sets and/or highlines, advanced litter rigging and usage, vector force analysis, risk assessments, size-up considerations, and system analysis.

Class lecture and discussion will be complemented with equipment labs, rigging skill stations, constructing complete rescue systems, and patient packaging. Student competency is evaluated through direct instructor observation, informal analysis, informal question and answer sessions, team scenario performance, individual practical skills performance and a final written exam.

All applicants must possess solid technical rescue skills, consistent with course prerequisites.

PREQUISITE:  NFPA 1670-compliant Rope Rescue Technician certification and Instructor approval.
